Some Cleaning Products
It is important to be aware of what you clean with as it is important to know what you are cleaning yourself with. When water goes down the drain, it isn’t going to never, never land just because you don’t see it again, all of it or part of it goes back to the Earth. Whether you have a septic tank in your back yard or your water goes to the local sewage treatment plant, what you flushed down the toilet or washed down the sink does get back to the Earth in some way. That is one reason why I suggest all natural or organic products to clean yourself with and why I believe it is essential to clean your house, wash your clothes, and your dishes with all natural or organic and biodegradable products. I have heard the argument (once again) that these products are so expensive. They may be about $1.00 or so more, if at all. I feel they last longer (because you don’t need to use as much), smell better and in all cases do just as a good a job if not better than all that crap I was buying with bleach and the asphyxiating, toxic smells. I did not go through my house and throw every non organic, non biodegradable cleaning product out. I used it until it was finished while incorporating all natural or organic house hold cleaners and then of course recycled the containers.
I really enjoy Ecover products. They smell good, do a great job and are reasonably priced and from what I can tell they are in most supermarkets with some kind of organic section.

I use Seventh Generation liquid soap for the kitchen sink and their powder detergent for the dishwasher.

Most grocery stores are carrying these products now. If your local store does not have any of the above products, both websites have a store locator at the top of the page.
The laundry detergent I use is BioKleen and is by far the best detergent I have ever found. It consistently gets stains out, my clothes don’t fade, they look cleaner than any other detergent I’ve ever used, no harsh smells, and it’s completely biodegradable. I will never use another laundry detergent as long as I can get my hands on this stuff. Luckily, I am able to buy this at my local health food store.
